Shehzad Shaukat appointed Punjab advocate general

LAHORE: Punjab Governor Mian Baligur Rehman on Wednesday appointed Shehzad Shaukat as the new advocate general, ARY News reported. A notification was also issued by the law ministry in this regard. His appointment comes after the Punjab government recently removed Advocate General Ahmad Awais from his position. AGP Ahmad Awais tendered his resignation on Monday after the president of Pakistan approved the appointment of Balighur Rehman as new governor of Punjab. Earlier, Punjab Law and Parliamentary Affairs Department had barred Advocate General Ahmad Awais from appearing in cases on behalf of the provincial government. Ahmad Awais remained the Advocate General of Punjab from October 2018 to April 11, 2019. ARY Digital’s YouTube channel attacked by Indian hackers

KARACHI: Indian hackers on Wednesday attacked ARY Digital’s YouTube channel. According to details, Indian hackers attacked and hacked ARY Digital’s YouTube channel. As a result of this attack, ARY Digital’s YouTube channel was hacked for some time. However, ARY Digital’s YouTube channel was recovered from Indian hackers successfully. According to the administration, the YouTube channel was hacked by Indian hackers for some time, during which the Indian hackers also tried to harass, but the YouTube channel was recovered promptly. PM Shehbaz Sharif sets $5b target of Pak-Turk bilateral trade

ANKARA: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has urged the business community of Pakistan and Turkey to take the bilateral trade to $5 billion mark within the next three years. Karachi: Multiple political leaders from Balochistan including ex-senators have announced to join the Pakistan Peoples Party after meeting with Asif Ali Zardari in Bilawal House Karachi, ARY News reported.  According to details, Multiple political leaders from Balochistan including ex-senator Saeed-ul-Hassan Mandokhel and Akbar Khan Mandokhel have announced to join the PPP. RAWALPINDI: Former Interior Minister and Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has asserted that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would accept the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s (SCP) decision on the long march. FBR releases tax collection details for 2021-22

The Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) has released tax collection details for the fiscal year 2021-22, ARY News reported.  According to the data issued by FBR, the tax collection for the year 2021-22 was Rs5349 billion. The number is expected to be higher after the addition of payment receipts, and final recollection by the State Bank of Pakistan. The collection is 28.4% higher than the collection at the same time last year. Tax collection at the same time last year was Rs4164 billion. An amount of Rs490 billion was collected in taxes in May 2022 which is 26.8% higher than May 2021. The tax collection in May 2021 was Rs387 billion. ISLAMABAD: The energy crisis deepens as three more major power companies have shut down 16 power plants in Pakistan due to a non-supply of fuel, ARY News reported. According to ARY News, the people of Pakistan should brace for more load-shedding after three major companies shut down 16 power plants. The Hub Power Company (HUBCO), Lalpir Power Limited and PakGen Power have shut down 16 power plants – including Tarbela and Jamshoro – due to mismanagement in the supply of furnace oil. Electricity shortfall further widened due to the closure of power plants. Power shortfall initially surged to 1,000 megawatts with the closure of power plants. KARACHI: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has delayed the announcement of flight operation for Hajj 2022 as it failed to make a final decision, ARY News reported on Monday. QUETTA: Independent candidates are leading in the local government (LG) elections in 32 districts of Balochistan, ARY News reported on Sunday. KARACHI: The footage has surfaced that showed a police encounter that took place in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal in which a suspected criminal was killed and another wounded, ARY News reported on Sunday. FAISALABAD: In another gang-rape incident, a woman was allegedly subjected to sexual assault by two persons in Faisalabad’s suburban area, ARY News reported on Sunday. According to details, a woman was allegedly gang-raped by two persons – identified as Zafar and Ahmed Ali – in a dispensary in Chak Barnala of Faisalabad. ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the federal government to issue notices to former President General Pervez Musharraf and all other succeeding prime ministers in the missing persons case. IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah gave final chance to the Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) to present arguments on constitutional violations in the cases and said that the missing persons should be presented in court or justify the failure of the state. Balochistan LG polls to be held today

QUETTA: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will organise local government (LG) polls in 32 out of 34 districts of Balochistan today, ARY News reported. All arrangements have been completed for organising the LG polls in 32 districts of Balochistan . The voting process will be continued uninterrupted from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Overall 3,552,398 registered voters will take part in the polls while 5,226 polling stations including 576 for men and 562 for women are established for the Balochistan LG polls. 1974 polling statements are declared sensitive and 2034 are highly sensitive. KARACHI: The Sindh government has stopped the transporters from increasing the fares which was sought after the massive hike in petrol and diesel prices, ARY News reported on Saturday. LAHORE: The Punjab government has registered a case against unidentified lawyers in Lahore in connection with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) long march on May 25, ARY News reported on Friday. Islamabad: Lawyer and civil rights activist Imaan Zainab Mazari has secured a pre-arrest bail in a case about using ‘derogatory’ remarks against state institutions, ARY News reported.  Imaan Mazari is the daughter of former Human rights minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shireen Mazari.
