Sunni Ittehad Council announces to support PTI in Punjab by-polls

FAISALABAD: Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) on Tuesday announced to support Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Punjab by-polls, ARY News reported.

The Election Commission has announced to hold by-elections on July 17 on the 20 vacant general seats due to the disqualification of deviating members of PTI.

The decision was taken in a meeting between the Sunni Ittehad Council and PTI at the residence of Raza Nasarullah. SIC chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza also attended the election campaign of PTI candidate in PP-97.

The Sunni Ittehad Council chief said people will reject turncoats with the power of their votes.

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has decided to give full support to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates in Punjab by-polls.

As per details, both the PTI and the PML-Q are focused on the by-polls in Punjab and are hopeful for change in the province by winning the by-elections.

In this regard, the sources told ARY News that Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid has decided to give full support to the PTI candidates in the Punjab by-elections and in this regard PML-Q central leader and Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has issued instructions to party officials.

Rajanpur accident claims five lives, 20 injured

RAJANPUR: At least five people were dead and 20 others sustained injuries when a passenger bus overturned in Punjab’s Rajanpur district, ARY News reported on Sunday. As per details, the ill-fated passenger bus was going to Jacobabad from Sakhi Sarwar with pilgrims, when it met an accident in Fazilpur, Rajanpur. Minor boy raped, murdered by uncle in Bannu

BANNU: In yet another incident of sexual assault, a four-year-old boy was allegedly raped and later killed in the Bannu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ARY News reported on Sunday. According to police, the incident took place at Jaman Road in Bannu city where a four-year-old boy was raped and killed by her maternal uncle. The suspect has been taken into custody and is currently being interrogated, said police. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased child has been shifted to a hospital, the police said. Pakistan agrees to IMFs demands for revival of loan programme

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has hinted at addressing the concerns put forward by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the federal budget for FY2023-24, ARY News reported, citing sources. Pakistan’s efforts are underway to restore the stalled loan programme with the IMF and the breakthrough is likely within two days.
