Schools see low attendance due to light showers in Karachi

KARACHI: Several private schools across Karachi witnessed low attendance on the first day of reopening of the academic activities after summer vacations, ARY News reported.

Schools in North Nazimabad, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and other areas remained closed due to overnight showers that continued till morning.

In many schools, children were sent back to their houses due to low attendance, while teachers remained in attendance at the schools.

Parts of Karachi, received light to moderate showers from the wee hours of Monday night that continued till morning, forcing parents to keep their children at homes.

Earlier, the Sindh Education and Literacy Department Sunday rejected all rumors about the extension in summer vacations in Sindh schools owing to monsoon rains.

In a social media post, the education ministry had denied reports making rounds on social media that summer vacations in Sindh were being extended beyond August 1.

Imran Khan meets differently-abled boy staying at Bani Gala camp

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan has fulfilled the wish of a differently-abled young boy who stayed at Bani Gala camp for protecting him and waiting to meet him personally. Nawaz Sharif says ‘I always wanted to make Pakistan economic power’

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif said that ‘I always wanted to make Pakistan economic power’, ARY News reported.  Addressing a public gathering in Lahore from London the former prime minister congratulated the nation on 25th Youm-e-Takbeer Day.  Nawaz Sharif said that he was offered billions of dollars and threats to stop carrying out the nuclear test, but he made Pakistan a nuclear power which is a symbol of defence and dignity of the country. He said that people started pulling his legs and the journey towards economic development was stopped. The USD value was Rs 104 in comparison to the Pakistan rupee in 2017 and now it is over 300, flour was Rs 33 per KG and now 1kg flour costs Rs 120, Nawaz Sharif added.
