Sindh CM inspects construction work of Malir Expressway

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah inspected ongoing development works in city along with his cabinet members on Sunday morning, ARY News reported. CM Shah inspected under construction Malir Expressway at City School chapter. Talking during his visit Sindh’s chief minister said, “it is 50 kilometers long road from Qayyumabad-KPT Interchange to M-9 Kathore”. Chishtian: AC seizes 10,000 hoarded sacks of fertilizer

CHISHTIAN: The assistant commissioner on Sunday raided a fertilizer godown in Chishtian, a city in Bahawalnagar, Punjab, and recovered hoarded 10,000 sacks, ARY News reported. As per details, Assistant Commissioner Rana Ghulam Murtaza raided a fertilizer godown located at Sugar Mill Road in Punjab’s Chishtian. During the action as many as 10,000 hoarded fertilizer sacks were recovered from the godown. The recovered fertilizer sacks are worth Rs50 million in the open market. The Ac said that the recovered fertilizer will be sold to the farmers at the government’s fixed rate. The godown has been sealed after the action. LAKKI MARWAT: A policeman was martyred after unidentified terrorists attacked a police checkpost in Lakki Marwat, KP, ARY News reported. According to a police spokesman, the suspects attacked the Shahbaz Khel checkpost with sophisticated weapons. Policemen deployed at the checkpost retaliated against the attack. KARACHI: Sindh Local Government (LG) Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has decided to take legal action against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry for accusing him of ‘horse-trading’, ARY News reported. New Year’s Eve: Section 144 imposed to ban pillion riding in Karachi

KARACHI: The provincial government has imposed section 144 and banned pillion riding in Karachi, ARY News reported on Saturday. Sindh Home Department in a notification has banned pillion riding on motorbikes under the section 144 on the New Year eve. Karachi: Factory roof collapse injures five

KARACHI: Rescue teams rescued five people who were trapped under the debris when a factory roof collapsed in Karachi, ARY News reported. As per rescue sources, the roof of a factory collapsed in Karachi’s Korangi area. People trapped under the debris were rescued and were moved to the hospital. Earlier, a factory in Landhi’s Export Processing Zone took a hit as a container collided with its walls resulting in the roof collapsing over laborers. Covid-19 threat: CAA begins screening at Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD: Amid the threat of Covid-19 spread, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has begun screening passengers at the Islamabad International airport, ARY News reported on Saturday. According to the airport manager, all the inbound passengers are being tested at the entry points for temperature, while Covid-19 tests are also being carried out on passengers with the symptoms of the virus. ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday filed an intra-court appeal against the Islamabad High Court (IHC) order to hold Islamabad local government (LG) polls on December 31 (today), ARY News reported. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have decided to contempt pleas against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the federal government for not complying with the court order for holding Islamabad local government (LG) polls, ARY News reported on Friday. ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Friday held a woman with heroin-filled capsules in her stomach at Islamabad International Airport, ARY News reported. DERA ISMAIL KHAN: At least three policemen were injured when terrorists attacked a police picket in Dera Ismail Khan, ARY News reported on Friday. Karachi: Police arrest three ‘criminals’ after encounter in Boat Basin

KARACHI: Three suspected street criminals including two in injured condition were arrested during a police encounter in Karachi’s Boat Basin area on Friday, ARY News reported.  According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Karachi South Zone, Asad Raza, a ‘gunfight’ was held between the street criminals and the police in Clifton Block 2. Heavy fog disrupts flight operations in Lahore

LAHORE: Poor visibility caused by heavy fog has badly affected flight operations at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, ARY News reported. ISLAMABAD: Financial irregularities worth billions of rupees in the Dasu hydropower project have been unearthed before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), ARY News reported on Wednesday. The session was chaired by Noor Alam Khan in which the committee review the Ministry of Water Resources audit report for the year 2019-20. The committee advised a forensic audit of the construction of dams and other five projects including Bhasha Dam, Dasu, Mohmand, Neelam Jhelum and K-IV projects. KARACHI: Gold continues to shine in Pakistan as per tola price hit an all-time high of RsRs182,700 in local market, ARY News reported. ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to roll back the restrictions imposed on imports from January 2, 2023, in a bid to facilitate the industrialists and business persons, ARY News reported on Tuesday. According to details, the development was announced by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in a circular addressed to the presidents and chief executives of all authorised dealers (Ads) in foreign exchange. “Attention of the authorised dealers (ADs) is invited to EPD Circular letter No.9 of May 20, 2022 and Circular letter No. 11 of July 5, 2022 wherein ADs were required to seek prior permission from Foreign Exchange Operations Department SBP-BSC before initiating any import transaction pertaining to HS Code Chapter 84, 85 and certain items of Chapter 87,” the circular stated. QUETTA: Flour crisis continues in Balochistan, as the per kg price of flour is being sold between Rs125 to 130, ARY News reported on Tuesday. According to details, the prices of flour have skyrocketed in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan while the commodity was not available in most shops across the province. Motorway police seizes 660 litres of liquor

FAISALABAD:  National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) on Tuesday recovered 660 litres of liquor from a vehicle in Faisalabad, ARY News reported.  According to the motorway police spokesperson, the traffic was being diverted due to dense fog at Kamalpur Interchange at the Motorway in Faisalabad. During the process, a suspected car driver by breaking the queue tried to flee towards Gojra. Seeing the situation, the motorway police chased the vehicle and managed to catch it but the driver managed to escape from the scene. Saudi Arabia, Australia issue security alert for their citizen in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Following the recent suicide attack in Islamabad, Saudi Arabia and Australia have advised their citizens in Pakistan to be cautious and limit their movement in the wake of the adverse security situation, ARY News reported. In a statement posted on Twitter, the Saudi Arabian embassy issued a security alert for its citizens, advising them to remain “careful and limit their movement”. AC issues written order on Suleman Shehbaz interim bail

LAHORE: An accountability court (AC) on Monday issued a written order on interim bail of Suleman Shehbaz, son of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a money laundering case, ARY News reported. Suleman, who returned to Pakistan earlier this month, was granted bail after he filed a petition for pre-arrest bail in the reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in 2020. As per details, the court stated in a written order that Suleman Shehbaz should join the investigation and make sure of his presence in every hearing in the court. The AC ordered Suleman Shehbaz to submit surety bonds worth Rs500,000 for the court’s satisfaction and issued notices to NAB till January 7. The petitioner told the court that he is innocent and he is booked in this case contrary to the facts, the written order stated. Karachi man shot dead, police suspect ‘targeted’ killing

KARACHI: Unknown armed men ‘targeted’ and shot dead a man in Karachi’s Baldia Town, ARY News reported on Monday, quoting police. As per details, a man identified as Rafiullah, 37, was chased by unknown gunmen and was shot dead near Eidgah Morr in Baldia’s Ittehad Town.
