LAHORE: A case has been registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Farrukh Habib and others for ‘interfering in official affairs’ and ‘tearing uniforms of policemen’, ARY News reported.

According to details, a first information report (FIR) was registered late night at Ferozewala police station on the complaint of federal police office Adeel Shaukat.

The first information report (FIR) was lodged against Farrukh Habib for ‘interfering in official affairs’ and ‘tearing uniforms of policemen’. The PTI leader has been booked under sections 148, 149, 186, 225, 341, 353, and 395 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The FIR, a copy of which is available with ARY News, stated that the PTI leader and his associates ‘tried to interfere in official affairs and cause damage.’

“Habib and his associates tried to snatch government weapons, vehicle and wireless”, the FIR stated, adding that they also tried to free ‘arrested Fawad Chaudhry’.

It further stated, “Farrukh Habib and his associates – who were armed – also tore the uniforms of the policemen”.

It is pertinent to mention here that Islamabad police arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry from his residence for ‘threatening’ Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members.

A case against Chaudhary was registered last night at the Kohsar police station in Islamabad on the complaint of Secretary of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Omer Hamid Khan.

The first information report (FIR) was lodged against him for using ‘threatening’ language against the ECP and its members.

Farrukh Habib tries to stop police van

A day earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Farrukh Habib tried to stop police convoy taking Fawad Chaudhry to Islamabad.

Farrukh also engaged in a scuffle with the police in an attempt to stop them from transporting PTI senior leader Fawad Chaudhry.

The video shared on Farrukh Habib’s official Twitter account shows the PTI leader was trying to obstruct the motorcade of security officials at a Kala Shah Kaku toll plaza.

In the video, the former minister can be seen standing infront of police vehicle carrying Chaudhry.

Minor boy raped, murdered by uncle in Bannu

BANNU: In yet another incident of sexual assault, a four-year-old boy was allegedly raped and later killed in the Bannu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ARY News reported on Sunday. According to police, the incident took place at Jaman Road in Bannu city where a four-year-old boy was raped and killed by her maternal uncle. The suspect has been taken into custody and is currently being interrogated, said police. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased child has been shifted to a hospital, the police said. Pakistan agrees to IMFs demands for revival of loan programme

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has hinted at addressing the concerns put forward by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the federal budget for FY2023-24, ARY News reported, citing sources.  Pakistan’s efforts are underway to restore the stalled loan programme with the IMF and the breakthrough is likely within two days.  According to sources, Pakistan has decided to address the IMF’s concerns in the budget.
